INDUSTRY RECOGNITION | 2022

Safety Pole Recognized Among Top Construction Safety Solutions Companies of 2022

Construction Tech Review highlights Safety Pole’s approach to engineered overhead fall protection and its practical integration into framing operations.

In 2022, Safety Pole, Inc. received industry recognition from Construction Tech Review as a Top Construction Safety Solutions Company. The publication featured the company’s patented overhead fall-protection system in an article titled Taking Construction Safety a Notch Higher, examining its design, practical application, and relationship to the operational demands of construction framing.

The recognition acknowledged a principle that has guided Safety Pole since its establishment in 2004: effective fall protection must account for how construction work is actually performed.

"..working with the framer rather than against them."

Engineering That Works With the Job

In its coverage, Construction Tech Review characterized Safety Pole as “defining a new paradigm” in construction safety.

The article examined the Safety Pole System’s overhead anchorage arrangement, designed to provide workers with designated connection points while accommodating the movement required for elevated framing activities.

The publication also described the system’s modular design, which allows configurations to be adapted as construction progresses through successive building levels.

Jase Franke, Safety Pole’s Chief Operating Officer and Vice President, described the design objective as “working with the framer rather than against them.”

This distinction remains central to Safety Pole’s approach. Fall protection must do more than satisfy a requirement on paper. It must be planned, properly installed, and integrated into the sequence of work so that crews can use it consistently under actual jobsite conditions.

Recognition Grounded in Field Experience

Beyond the system’s engineering, the Construction Tech Review feature examined the experience of JL Schwieters Construction, a Minnesota-based framing contractor that incorporated Safety Pole into its operations.

The publication discussed the contractor’s experience with worker-safety funding, insurance considerations, and the broader financial implications of investing in fall-protection equipment.

Although the financial circumstances described in the original article are specific to that contractor and period, the example raises a larger consideration for construction businesses: investments in safety infrastructure should be evaluated as part of an overall operational and risk-management strategy.

Equipment acquisition is only one part of that strategy. Planning, installation, training, inspection, and competent oversight remain essential to effective system use.

A Continuing Commitment to Practical Fall Protection

Safety Pole was established in 2004 around a specific construction challenge: providing engineered fall-protection infrastructure suitable for the conditions and working methods of professional framing crews.

Since then, the company’s work has remained focused on integrating overhead anchorage into the construction environment and supporting its application through consistent procedures, technical documentation, and field training.

The recognition from Construction Tech Review provides an external acknowledgment of that work and the practical concerns that have shaped the Safety Pole System.

The principles highlighted in the 2022 coverage remain relevant today. Effective protection requires more than equipment availability; it depends on appropriate engineering, advance planning, proper deployment, and disciplined use.

For Safety Pole, those responsibilities continue to define the purpose of its products and its commitment to the construction professionals who rely on them.
